The LDAP Directory Services Package for the Largest Enterprise Directories

CDS Platinum is the middle tier of CDS. This version of CDS is intended for organizations that have very sophisticated and extremely demanding LDAP directory needs that go beyond the capabilities of ordinary server platforms. CDS Platinum is an Enterprise-ready Directory Services platform capable of supporting directories with tens of millions of entries on the largest 64-bit computing platforms. When Directory size and performance needs drive the cache size requirements beyond the capabilities of 32-bit systems, CDS Platinum is your primary choice. We believe CDS Platinum offers the highest performance and capacity of an LDAP Directory Services package in the marketplace.

CDS Platinum should be considered when the Directory design indicates that millions of entries will need to be supported with rapid response to queries. This generally translates into a need for cache greater than several hundred gigabytes.

CDS Platinum shares the same strong base with CDS Silver and Gold: OpenLDAP, OpenSSL, Cyrus SASL, and Sleepycat (Berkeley DB). CDS Platinum also includes a collection of modules, many of them developed by Symas, that implement functions such as password policy management, attribute uniqueness, referential integrity, database translucency, attribute constraints, and more. CDS Platinum also includes the database connectivity backends back-ldap and back-meta.

CDS Platinum is built with particular attention to making sure it unlocks the full capacity and performance potential of the larger 64-bit platforms. Symas can further Optimize the CDS Platinum software to particular configurations and help you with capacity management and planning.

CDS Platinum is available under an annual support, maintenance, and update subscription. Master Directory Server subscriptions for CDS Platinum are $25,000 for the first year and $20,000 per year thereafter and include up to two Replica Directory Servers. Subscriptions for additional Replica Directory Servers cost $12,500 for the first year and $10,000 per year thereafter. Under CDS Platinum subscriptions, all email technical support "incidents" are free. Subscribers get access to all updates and preferred service for "hot fixes." Symas offers telephone support during Symas business hours to CDS Gold and Platinum subscribers for a fee of $6,000 a year.
